Light showers or persistent light snow likely to give accumulations between 0 – 3cm in many places during the forecast period.

Moderate Snow

Heavy showers or persistent moderate snow likely to give accumulations between 3 – 6cm in many places during the forecast period. Some drifting may occur.

Heavy Snow

Very heavy showers or persistent heavy snow likely to give accumulations over 6cm in many places during the forecast period. If windy, large drifts may occur.

Blizzards

Moderate or heavy snow combined with 30mph+ winds causing whiteout conditions. Accumulations may vary but are most likely over 8cm in a wide region, with large drifts likely.
