60% Chance of a white Christmas
White Christmas Forecast Issued: 2009-12-19 23:29:00
Next Forecast: 2009-12-20 18:00:00
Synopsis
Similar GFS Charts as to yesterday with cold air likely to cover the North and some Central areas on Christmas Day. Southern areas look likely to have become slightly milder by then particularly in the South and parts of the East. Precipitation on the day is yet to be decided by the charts but where it does fall Scotland stands quite a good chance of it being wintry at the moment. Northern England, Northern Ireland, Wales and The Midlands stand a chance of something wintry aswell but this is slightly more uncertain than in the far North. Even in the south it will probably feel rather cool or chilly but cold perhaps very cold in the North. It will take a few more days to begin more certain of the likely outcome of Christmas day but in summary the North stands quite a good chance of something wintry. Central areas have a possibility. Southern areas are unlikely to see Snow currently but the situation still has time to change.
