Storm forecasts are issued on a daily basis every evening which covers the 24 hours of the following day. If no storms are expected on the next day, then storm forecasts are not usually issued. In severe weather, where conditions are constantly changing, further updates may be issued during the day. We aim to keep the forecasts as up-to-date and as accurate as possible, but please note that UKASF is a voluntary service, and therefore cannot guarantee a forecast will be available all the time. The forecasts provided are not warnings of imminent severe weather – it is the Met Office’s responsibility to warn the public of severe weather. You can view the latest weather warnings here.
